Milestone: First Solids!

On May 24th, 2009, we began adding new tastes and textures to Julian's diet.
We started with organic brown rice cereal-- nothing but the best!

Mmm, looks appetizing!

Hey, this isn't milk!

Mom, are you really sure about this??

Back to Wisconsin

After a week in the city, it was time to return to the pastoral idyll that is Madison in the summer.

Julian is officially ticklish.

In a cage (at the zoo):

And on our front lawn (a red-tailed hawk and what was previously a baby bunny, unfortunately):

Another trip to an old Madison favorite:
Ruth's birthday at Ella's Deli. Julian liked the carousel most of all.

Julian Sits on his Own!

OK, this wasn't the first time, but it was the first time he sat for a while in front of the camera. Way to go, buddy!!!

Unfortunately, Julian had to pay a few visits to the doctor this week (turns out he has an ear infection on top of his cold). But he made the most of it by playing the the paper:

Bath time was especially fun this week:

As was a trip downtown to meet Jamuna of the Nepali restaurant Himal Chuli, who cared for Ruth and her brother as small children many many years ago:
